Let’s all be friends:)

Virtual reality brought by the advancement in technology gives huiman the chance to discover himself, his inner thoghts and imaginations apart from the real world he is in. Today’s generation has endowed a spirit of being “technology-dependent’ where everything is easily done trough it in just a click. Why settle fro those old stuffs when you can easily get one of those modern gadgets?

Youngsters like me engaged in some social networking sites where we could be ourselves, where we could understand the world the way we want it to. It’s not surprising to know that these days almost everybody has an account on at least one social networking site. All different types of people from all over the world and all age groups use these sites, from children to the elderly. Even celebrities use them. On Twitter you can even follow your favourite celebrities and read their latest updates.

Social networking sites have given us some break-away haven from all the worries or problems in school, family, work and love. Teenagers specifically have developed a what we call ” virtual memory”, a peripheral look ahead where they create a hypothetical model. Most people go on to these sites every day to see what is going on in their family and friends lives. It’s a great way to keep in contact with people that don’t live close by and to know what’s going on in the lives of those that you love. They are used for many different reasons including playing games, joining and creating groups, using applications and sharing photos just to name a few. Personally I enjoy these sites to share photos, play games and keep up to date with what’s going on in the lives of my family and friends.

Whether I or anyone else thinks they are a good or bad idea, they’re here to stay so we may as well respect them and the people using them. So remember to always treat people the way you would like to be treated. I think everyone should use these sites as they are meant to be used and not take them for granted. We are lucky to have social networking sites in the first place.

Are we aware?

Electronic Gadgets today could be Harmful to our Health?

Let’s visualize for a minute. Let’s visualize a world without computers or cellphones. People in every fields use computers to make their works faster and more accurate. Cellphones nowadays are  ’must-haves’ for every Filipinos.  It’s a pretty tough life without these electronic devices, right?…I know some may not agree and say, “Well, we don’t need them to live on.” Oh yeah, they maybe right but mostly, they are wrong. In today’s life, all would be difficult and impossible without these stuffs.

Okay, let’s not talk about this matter-their importance whatsoever, rather let us deal on the impacts of these modern gadgets say “computers and cellphones”, in our personal health. “Modern technology is changing the way our brains work”, says a neuroscientist. Electronic devices and pharmaceutical drugs all have an impact on the micro cellular structure and complex biochemistry of our brains. And that in turn affects our personality, our behavior and characteristics. In short, the modern world could well be altering our human identity. Our brains are under the influence of an ever expanding world of new technology: television, video games, MP3 players, internet, wireless networks, blutooth links- the list goes on and on.

Mobile phones use electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range, and some believe this may be harmful to human health. So, for a while, let us reflect, what’s the real point of having these modern gadgets in our homes and offices when in turn, it will kill us all! Now we’re thinking of going back to being ‘primitive’ and we’ll put the blame to Steve Jobs and his associates for creating these threats on us?Of course, nobody wants to die early!.. haha, just kidding.

I have read articles about this EM radiation and the World Health Organization has something to say about it. WHO has acknowledged that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are influencing the environment (but not people), and that some people are worried about possible effects. in response to public concern, they established a project in 1996 to assess the scientific evidence of possible health effects of EMF. They have stated that although extensive research has been conducted into possible health effects of exposure to many parts of the frequency spectrum, all reviews conducted so far have indicated that exposures are below the limits recommended in the EMF guidelines, covering the full frequency range from 0-300 GHz, and do not produce any known adverse effect (wikepedia.com). The data added the official stance of the Health Protection Agency and they posit that there is no consistent evidence to date that WiFi and WLANs adversely affect the health of the general population….

And so we are happy…haha. We are relieved somehow. but in spite of these, let us not put into naught the idea of ‘negative vs positive’. Not all things here on earth are free, some have hidden price tags so we should be aware of the real things about it. Happy? let’s all be!!hehe
